The application for a third high-rise in North Delta has been put on hold.
Delta council directed staff last year to develop a mixed-use neighbourhood plan for the Scott Road corridor between 92nd and 96th avenues, an area referred to as the Townline Node. The plan is to accommodate a mix of residential, non-residential and public spaces.
According to the planning department, the research and analysis phase of the process is complete and land use concepts are being prepared. Community consultation is to take place this spring.
The Delta Sky high-rise project would have 224 residential units with 1,356 square feet of commercial floor area. Access is proposed from 95A Avenue and the majority of parking would be underground.
Meantime, a proposal to build another high-rise along Scott Road that had been on hold is active again.
The application by Arzone Real Estate Investments Ltd. and Hari Homes Inc. would see a 35-storey tower built at the corner of Scott Road and 75A Avenue.
The high-rise would have 294 units, commercial and a daycare space, as well as several townhouse units.
City staff note the application is still in the review stage which includes public consultation.
Delta already got its first skyscraper with the Delta Rise tower. That 37-storey building at 80th Avenue and Scott Road consists of more than 300 units on top of four floors of office and retail space.
